The practice is headed by Andrew Plumridge, who
graduated from the Oxford School of Architecture
in 1987. He began his career with the Milk
Marketing Board designing dairies,
creameries, transport depots and artificial
insemination centres for the dairy industry,
followed by a period
with Robin Moors Allnutt and Partners
designing industrial buildings for the
food flavour and chemical fragrance
industry.
After joining Peter Scott in 1991, Andrew
focussed on domestic and conservation work, and
in particular the repair and conservation of
historic churches. He has completed projects
for the Cathedrals Advisory Commission at Wells,
Exeter and Lincoln, and is currently Architect
Advisor to the Berkshire and Surrey Churches
Trusts. His wide experience of conservation
matters led to his appointment as Director of
the Garden History Society and Consultant
Conservation Architect to West Berkshire
Council. He was later shortlisted for the post of Head of Conservation
to Historic Royal Palaces.
Andrew is the author of
Brickwork: Architecture and Design (Studio Vista, 1993)
and completed a nationwide recording project for
the Royal Commission on the Historic Monuments
for England, recording Britain’s early prisons.
